The Maasai cricket warriors (MCW) understands that we need a lasting change for our people. We can create this change ourselves by using sports to establish transitional processes to take us away from part of the bad culture and help us energetically hold onto the divine part. Sports can help us to stay healthy so that we can manage to protect this cultural revolution that we are fighting for. As we put it in our Maa language, “mera tumoto nagol, barata!” -its ont getting that is the hardest, maintaining it is.

Although Female genital mutilation (FGM) may have served a purpose in the ancient world our ancestors, the MCW believes that the harmful and retrogressive vise has outlived its usefulness. We must now move from cultural and traditional activities that hurts us into a dynamic world that can accept reforms whenever a practice is found to be harmful to an individual or society at large. As our people puts it, “Kedol enkerai lainyamok eitu edol menye” -a child can see raiders before the parent does- so we believe that we have seen that FGM is not anymore necessary in our community. FGM and gender discrimination in our societies is not anything we can be proud of. We know that we hold the key to that desired positive change and development. But we cannot do it alone. We need you to push and pull us to make us strong and equipped enough to help our own selves. This is the only sustainable way for us to protect the integrity of our people and gain the desired positive change for our own survival.

Help us to help our people. Part of our good culture is ancient, retrogressive and harmful to us. We the Maasai Cricket Ladies uses

sports to  amplify their campaigns against female genital mutilation (FGM) and all gender inequalities from Maasai land for the greater good of the community. We need resources to establish Maasai cricket ladies in Maasailand. Apart from cultural injustices, part of our good culture is ancient, retrogressive and harmful to us. We stand together in fighting against all sorts of gender inequalities from Maasai land for the greater good of the community. We need resources to establish Maasai cricket ladies in Maasailand.

Apart from cultural injustices, we also face systemic social injustices which we can overcome with our self selling cultural brand. Help us adapt another reliable source of livelihood for our own survival as a people and for the entire humanity. The cattle people can no longer practice large scale cattle farming or move from place to place in search of green grass and water for their cattle. Lack of land, prolonged droughts and famine have greatly contributed to the poor state majority of Laikipiak Maasai live in. Our children and women are the ones mostly affected and we are moved to protect them for our own good. We want every Laikipiak Maasai girl to be a member of a sport club. We call upon you to support the founding of numerous MCL clubs so that they can take over the full responsibility of empowering themselves. The MCW look forward to  release themselves from this duty and let Maasai girls manage their own reforms.
