To all Maasai boy-children, all the class 8 and form 4 leavers… It is obvious that education is expensive in our country… But we are obliged not to allow that bad part of our culture to commit us to extract school fees through our sisters’ early and forced marriage. We refuse to allow that bad part of our culture to inflict such a lifetime trauma to our boy-child. We say no to FGM by protecting our nearest girl-children first, and then the neighbour’s girl.
As Cricket warriors, we commit ourselves to the service of our people, by reforming that retrogressive and harmful part of our culture, and improving the bigger part that makes us all proud to be Maa people. We do this with the help of our God and our friends knowing that an empowered girl-child is an empowered Maa nation and that is beneficial for the entire human species . #Maasai_Cricket_Warriors_Against_FGM.
